SCHOOL PROFILE
In year 1945, just like any other schools in the whole division classes were opened. The first classes of Haguimit Elementary School were opened in the Jalandoni house at Hda. Alegria, Barangay Haguimit, La Carlota City. There were only four teachers. After a few months, classes were closed due to an unexpected accident that happened. Merchants from Bacolod going to Dumaguete were ambushed in the vicinity of Haguimit proper. Classes were closed and teachers were sent to La Carlota Elementary School to avoid untoward troubles. After few weeks they were sent back to Haguimit where they rented several houses as temporary classrooms. There was no building as it was burned during the Japanese occupation in 1941-1945.
The Barangay Captain that time was Julian Lorana, there on, through the initiation of the school personnel, the Barangay Captain and the cooperation of the few barangay residents, a school building was constructed. It was made of bamboo and nipa. Through the support of Hacienda owners the Jalandoni and Rudriguez families and encargados and some and some civic minded persons the school got again its first concrete building. From then on regular and normal conditionof the barangay felt by the people until such time that the school progressed in its operation and to offer education to the children of the locality and its neighboring community.
The school was headed by different school heads from its operation was became normal and regular. They were Mr. Juan Guanzon, Mr. Pedro Cabrillos, Mr. Silverio Inventor, Mr. Belzisar Vista, Mr. Antonio Aplaon, Mrs. Clarita Arogante, Ms. Nenita Aplaon, Mr. Gil Aplaon, Mr. Nenito Tinagan, Mr. Primitivo Casio, Mr. Melgar Coronel, Mr. Anthony Liobet, Mr. Erlando Atilano,Mr. Alejandro Ticao, Mr. Efren Otico and presently Mr. Lynold Sansaet.
Current SituationThe school is situated about 12 kilometers away from the city proper and is very accessible using different vehicles via the main high way.
ClimateBrgy. Haguimit has Type 2 climate condition which means dry season is from December to May while the rainy season is from June to November. Average temperature is 26 degrees Celsius (80 degrees Fahrenheit).
